To be honest, I don’t love introductions or greetings.
I prefer to already be in the middle of a conversation, or through the “getting to know each other” phase.
Sometimes I don’t know where to start. Like when someone asks, “How are you?” so many emotions come to mind.
Or if we’re just meeting each other, I wish you could already know my basic life details: where I grew up, what my family dynamic is, what I do (or don’t do) for a living, and some traits or hobbies that make up my life.
So, we’re just going to pretend like we’ve already done those things and cut to the more interesting parts… like why you’re here.
How we got here
Over the last two years, I’ve hopped on a lot of bandwagons.
I tried living sustainably, then craved a farm life (homestead, anyone?), started making things from scratch (and not just food), asked my friend for some sourdough starter, and even dove into sewing. Through each of these endeavors, I would learn a little bit more about myself and the world around me.
Then, this all culminated into a blog over the last two weeks (or really, last three months).
I was collecting and absorbing information until it was spilling out of me, and I didn’t know what to do with it. One random Friday afternoon, it popped into my mind to start blogging and put this out there for others to follow along and learn too. I decided I wanted to sift through the information that I felt was actually important and firmly believed in, and consolidate it to make it more digestible for others.
Because… I get it.
You don’t have time to sit and read the thousands of articles about healthy eating protocols, or the energy to figure out the right workout routine that fits into your schedule, or even the quiet to listen to a podcast while processing the facts in order to apply them.
My goal here is to make your life better by making the facts accessible and encouraging.
So…
Why me?
Yeah, I’m kind of wondering too. I’m confused of how this all panned out. But that’s okay, we don’t have to know all the answers to the questions.
All I want to say is, I have a passion for the truth. I’m eager to know the facts, and then I’m eager to understand why they’re the facts. (Obnoxious, right?)
Basically, I only want the meat of the information and none of the fluff. There’s hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands of fads out there for how to “live your best life,” but all of that noise can quickly become overwhelming and paralyzing. Here, you’ll find the basics that hopefully will encourage and challenge you.
What to expect:
There will be a wide range of topics here, but I will try to maintain a niche (because that’s what they tell you). Listed below are all the things I plan to cover. If you read something of your particular interest in the list, stick around! If you have suggestions for topics or have something you want to know more about, let me know.
The topics:
- Simple living
- Slowing down
- Homemaking
- Clean products and low-toxic living
- Eating for nourishment
- Cooking from scratch
- Sourdough
- Exercise and strength-training
- Sewing
- Sunlight
- Gardening
Lastly,
Disclaimer: Let me be clear that I am, by no means, an expert. I might’ve blown my credibility just now, but I’m not here trying to be an influencer. It’s not about the aesthetic. And please don’t be fooled into thinking that my entire life looks like this all the time. It’s always a journey.
If you’ve stuck around this long, thanks for reading your way through. I hope you’ll tag along for this journey, and find something helpful for your soul along the way.
OG
